Gravity
Something burdens me I move against it
neck flexing shouldering pressure aside
is it gravity fighting old
age still?
muscles stretching as if to grimace
if it’s gravity I fought against
it
before in babyhood on my own
feet
then grew let my shadow tromp tromp trample
gravity down but it’s grown back
to fight
this time I’m pinned to my locality
miles from the station perhaps ten at
times
if you trace my steps you’ll find
a complicated web through alleys
back streets
known only to residents those who
walk
who trample gravity today tomorrow
